Medical Management & Wellness

Your Corporate Benefit Advisors , Inc. consulting team, in cooperation with our in-house wellness and communications specialists, can assist you with all aspects of your wellness program, from simple advice and guidance to the design of a new, customized year-round wellness campaign.

Some of the types of wellness programs and initiatives we have undertaken for our clients include:

  • Identifying vendors to provide Health Risk Assessments with biometric screenings with written report follow-up, onsite coaching at the time of the screening, and telephone-based coaching following the screening.
  • Identifying carrier and community resources the employees can use in the course of a wellness program.
  • Assisting with the evaluation and purchase of a smoking cessation and weight loss programs.
  • Helping to evaluate models and costs for an on-site medical clinic to manage an employee wellness program and to provide basic primary care to employees.
  • Developing a 12-month program of wellness seminars, employee feedback materials, sign-up sheets, incentives and measurement tools. We also identified seminars offered by local hospitals, speakers to hire and free community resources, and assisted the client in identifying “wellness cheerleaders” to encourage employee participation and enthusiasm in the plan.

We approach the development of a wellness program using a systematic and strategic method, which determines:

  • Program goals
  • Budget
  • Methodology for measuring program success
  • Expectations regarding time commitment
  • Expectations regarding staff involvement
  • Acceptable/desired level of intrusiveness with employees
  • Internal support system (‘cheerleaders’ and supporting management)

If an external wellness vendor is needed, we will use the above information to perform a market survey and to review vendor services. Just as every employer’s wellness plan is unique, no two wellness vendors offer the same solution. Our goal is to find the vendor that fits your goals, expectations and culture.

In addition to assisting with program development, we also provide wellness compliance counseling. Many wellness programs, even those sold by vendors or carriers, wander into the gray areas of laws such as HIPPA, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We can advise you as to the relative “grayness” or risk of whatever wellness plan you select.
